Psychology Analysis of Character in a Film The story of a film revolves around the distinguish lifestyle and beliefs of Andy, whoworks in the stockroom of an electronic store (SamrtTech). Andy is a 40 years old guy, who lives alone. He lives life on the belief of celibacy. His personal and social life is backed by playing video games or watching Survivor show with elderly neighbors. Andy has got three friends David, Cal & Jay. The reveal of Andy’s being virgin at 40 opens, when he is being invited by his friends over a poker game. His friends feel pity and mock him for such involuntary celibate, and try to hook him up with some girl to lose his virginity. After colliding with bad experiences and advices of his friends, Andy decides to travel on this path on his own. He happens to cross his path with a lady named Trish, who has a teenage daughter called Marla. They both decide to have sex on their twentieth date. On the reach of twentieth date, Andy still find self-reluctant t owards sex. Trish gets upset & an argument rises between the two. The movie had been a comical success, majorly due to the role played of Andy. His character in the movie is very simple and vital. His past failures put him into his own capacities by abandoning of ever having sex again, which makes him a virgin at 40 years of age. It’s not that by putting off sex, he’s dealing with some no life, as a typical dork. He has got too much on his plate, a job along with his own time fillers activities (video games, TV shows) except sex thoughts. He doesn’t even seem to pleasure himself through pornography or masturbation, as he is not a mono-sexual but can be said as asexual. The incorporate flaws and shy mannerism, both points are well displayed by Andy. The noticeable point is that, Andy is not a freak. He is just a guy, who didn’t get his break.
